My trip to Dundee Scotland

Currently, I am working my way around Scotland just now, I visited Dundee around three weeks ago now and honestly I really liked it. I thought some parts were better than others but its like that everywhere. Scotland is such a beautiful country and I feel like it doesn’t get enough recognition.

When I went to Dundee, I had no idea what I wanted to do, where I wanted to visit, it was literally a case of, lets discover and explore! The first place I went to was obviously my hotel as I wasn’t going to carry my baggage about all day for no reason. The hotel I was staying in was called the Holiday INN Express, it was very central and close to the town centre.

Whilst I was in Dundee I visited a very large museum called the V&A. This is the worlds leading museum of art and design. It is a huge building with lots of art exhibitions and fashion designs inside it. It has interactive game boards too which can keep children entertained. It shows not only art but culture and history too.

I am not going to show any photos of the inside as this will spoil it for the people who have not yet visited this wonderful museum.

I also did the basic things in Dundee like shopping, ate out at cafes and spent the day looking for interesting shops.

For those of you who know, I am a massive lover of cheese! I have cheese with literally everything! I walked by this cheese shop called The Cheesery, Obviously I had to go in. As I walked in my eyes widened, there was loads of cheeses, wines, biscuits, literally my dream shop. It was such a cute little shop too! I defiantly recommend you take a visit if you are visiting Dundee.

Lastly, I went to this amazing chip shop/restaurant called the Tail End. The food was amazing! no words needed, just look at my burger! It came with homemade chips and onion rings with a refreshing glass of Coke. The décor was really cute too, cute fairy lights and a warm atmosphere. I know I keep saying it but this place is a must to visit!

Until next time…

Anxiety hacks

Hey, wow it feels like in forever since I wrote a post on here! I just noticed that I write my posts, how I would speak in actual real life, I mean I guess that means there more true to me.

lets face it, this world ain’t easy, everyday, every hour, every minute, we face challenges. Whether we expected them or not, life throws sh*t at us. We have to deal with it. No matter what it is we have to get through it. Its almost like a car going through a tunnel, the car can stop and think what to do but it has to go forward, there is no other way out. Our anxiety is the same, there is only one way and it is forward ( I felt really inspirational there, sorry about that *Smiley grin)

Okay, on to the actual post now, here are some anxiety tips that I have used that help me move forward in my daily life. I hope these work for you but some may be more helpful than others!

1. MUSIC

Music is literally my best friend, there is so many playlists out there to listen to. My favourite artist at the minute is defiantly Post Malone. He has an amazing voice and he is such an inspiration. I always have headphones in my bag. This is literally a life saver. A top tip would be to make a playlist that you can listen to when you are feeling anxious or stressed.

2. Essential Oils

My therapist told me this, my Doctor told me this, my – everyone told me this one! The scent of lavender is a natural relaxing way to calm your body down. There may be other scents that you like and prefer but lavender is popular and the best one for me by far. I have a lavender pillow spray which I spray most nights on to my pillow and duvet to soothe my anxiety before bed. I also have a lavender roll on which I carry with me when travelling to smell on my wrist.

3. Imagine your happy place

Think of a place or time you were really happy, really relaxed. Close your eyes and think about this place. What did you see, what did you smell, who was there, was there any noise or was it just quiet and peaceful, was it dark or was it light, what were you doing. Think of all these things. This is a very good distraction for your mind.

4. Sweat

Literally. Do an activity which makes you sweat. Going to the Gym is really good as this releases endorphins. Endorphins are basically these happy chemicals in your brain that get released doing activities, especially the gym! So for this hack, all you really need to do is sweat and by doing this you are getting your brain to release those happy chemicals, therefore you feel better mentally and physically

5. Self talk

Lets be honest, we all speak to ourselves from time to time (LOL at least I do) We can do this to reduce our symptoms of anxiety. We can say self soothing statements such as “This will pass” or “I have done this before, I can do this again”. There are lots of self talk statements available online.
